Something I learned from my grandma

Of course I get my very first ticket today as I’m driving to Trader Joe’s. When I saw the lights from the cop’s motorcycle through my mirrors, I was like….well, fuck. It’s harder to not give a shit and let things go than it is to mope about it. So what do I do about it? Write about it on Tumblr and forget about it. My grandma gives the best advice on things. She tells me to just get over things quickly. The sooner you get over it, the easier life is! Life is too short to keep moping or holding on to the shitty things in your life. Just think about it a bit than forget about it and move on with life. Don’t spend all your time focusing on the bad because then you’re missing out on all the good things in life and the good things to come! This damn ticket better give me something good afterwards! Hahaha

Your hair tells your life story

Not sure if this is true across all Native American tribes but, the tribe I spent a week with (The Luiseno Band of Indians) keep their long beautiful hair growing because they believe that your hair tells your life story. All the moments in your life and you don’t cut your hair until something dramatic in your life happens that you want to just let go of. The one story I heard was about a man who went through a divorce with his wife. He cut his long hair to symbolize letting that past go and to start new again.

I just called the salon I’ve been dying to get a haircut from to make an appointment. I’m ready for a fresh start and to get rid of the all negatives in my life. I’m excited too because this salon has been raved by Yelpers and I’ve been wanting to go their since third year of college. I finally picked up the phone and called for an appointment. I’m hoping my new hair will bring more positives in my life especially in the family area. If not, at least I’ll finally (hopefully) have nice hair that is cut by a professional! My hair is currently shorter than before but I still look like shit. Maybe that’s why my (family) life didn’t get better because my hair still looked like crap and probably still has too many negatives in it. Time to chop that off come next Monday.

So many secrets in a person’s hair. Hahaha

I worked on a food truck today and it was AWESOME. After watching food trucks on TV and eating at numerous food truck meet-ups, it was so cool to be in one and actually work in one. Major boner!

I worked on Seabirds food truck…the vegan one in Orange County! Haha, they were also on a season of Food Network’s The Great Food Truck Race. (They didn’t win. Lime Truck won that season.) I kinda applied to it on Craigslist because I was at a point where I was like, why the fuck not?! I sort of started applying to anything that remotely had some similarities with my future goals.

But now I feel uber hipster because I work on an organic farm AND a vegan food truck……but I’m not vegan at all! (I do try to eat organic when I can especially now that I know how cheaper it is when you buy it at a local farm!)

It’s just crazy. Never did I think I would be in this direction in life…as in, I didn’t expect to find passion in the environmental/sustainability realm. To the point where, I would LOVE to start my own business where I would be a sustainability consultant and help businesses/organizations/cities etc. be green and really care about it.

I don’t know. I’m only 23 and there’s still so much for me to learn and explore but I feel like I am going in the right direction right now. I love and enjoy what I do/learn and I’m just so excited everyday to wake up and share my knowledge with people and see people actually excited over it. Nothing gives me a bigger boner than having people say, “OH MY GOSH! Really??? That is so interesting/cool/awesome!” (Well, maybe good carne asada tacos can give me a bigger boner but you get the point.)
